Employment Opportunity for Environmental Intern
JBS Engineering & Environmental, LLC is seeking a motivated candidate to fill the position of Environmental Intern with our consulting firm in Bryan, Texas. The internship will offer experience across a variety of environmental sectors, clients, and services. The candidate will work closely with Project Managers on various projects, potentially in the areas of regulatory compliance, air quality, site investigation & remediation, environmental impact assessment, and environmental due diligence.
Responsibilities
-
Assist with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.

Assist with fieldwork involving water quality, soil, and groundwater sampling and monitoring.

Assist with preparing plans, permits, and reports for hazardous waste, air quality, stormwater, TPDES, and wastewater programs.

Assist with jurisdictional waters, wetlands, and endangered species assessments.
-
Assist with compiling and analyzing data for environmental projects.
-
Assist with the preparation of reports, environmental plans, and correspondence for clients and regulatory agencies.

Collaborate with project managers, co-workers, and clients to meet project needs and expectations.

Perform project tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.

Required Experience

At least two years of progress toward a B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, or related discipline.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience using field sampling and monitoring equipment, and ArcGIS Pro is an asset.

General knowledge and understanding of federal and Texas regulatory programs is preferred.
Employment Opportunity for Entry Level Engineer
An Environmental & Engineering Consulting firm in Bryan/College Station is seeking a candidate(s) to fill part-time and possible full-time positions in both Drafting and Entry Level Engineering. Potential candidate(s) should be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) or have 1 to 3 years of experience in working with civil and/or environmental projects.
Key Responsibilities

Work with design teams on a wide variety of civil and environmental projects;

AutoCAD support relative to grading, infrastructure, and stormwater design;

Design of site layouts;
-
Design of plan/profile sheets;
-
Design of utility and stormwater systems;
-
Develop surface models, pipe networks and earthwork quantities using drafting software;
-
Preparation of engineering construction and permitting drawings;
-
Assist in the development of environmental reports and permit drawings.
Skills / Qualifications

Experience with of AutoCAD Civil 3D;

Understanding of coordinate geometry and land surveying;

Attention to detail with experience in data analysis and creative problem solving;

Good computer and technical skills;

Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication;

Strong work ethic with the ability to work professionally and ethically;

Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, as required.
